“I was speaking with a grocery store executive last week, and she said something that stuck with me for days: “Grocery associates were hailed as heroes back in March for working when others were sheltering in place. Now that six months have passed, many retailers have stopped acknowledging their sacrifice, and, as a result, these employees now feel forgotten and unappreciated.”

We then went on to talk about how communication is so vital for keeping employees engaged and how seemingly small things, like weekly videos from the CEO to all employees at her company, are doing wonders for employee morale. In many cases, the pay is not the only important thing to store employees. They also need to feel appreciated and like the role they play in the company is meaningful.”
